$60 Million Belle Meade Condo Project Getting Started

June 21—Developer Richard Rhea plans to open a sales office next month to begin selling condominiums in his $60-million Belle Meade-area project.
After getting zoning approvals over the past year, Rhea has been prepping the site for The Manning at Belle Meade, which is actually on Woodmont Blvd. down a bit from Harding Road.
The building will have 34 units, two of which will be brownstone-type homes rising three stories. They will sell for $950,000 to $5.5 million. The property will have a pool and garden area in the back.
Rhea hopes to begin construction in the first quarter of next year and finish toward the end of 2009. He needs to pre sell 50 percent of the units to begin construction.
Two houses have been retained on the site. One is being converted into a sales center. The other is being converted into a model replicating the interior of what is planned for the residential building.
