60M Residential Development Going in Belle Meade

Nashville Business Journal - Linda Bryant

June 22—The Manning at Belle Meade, an exclusive $60 million, nine-story condominium development with 34 units priced from $950,000 to $5.5 million is coming to Nashville’s most expensive neighborhood - Belle Meade.

The project’s developers, Richard and LaRawn Scaife Rhea, are Nashville residents but perhaps best known for their elite developments in the United States and Caribbean.

Classically inspired, the 1,800-to 6,000-square-foot homes will be on Woodmont Boulevard nearHarding Road and include balconies and terraces with sweeping views of rolling hills in the distance and formal gardens below.

“I don’t think Nashville has seen this type of residential development before,” says Richard Rhea. “It’s a boutique development and we believe we’ve identified a need.”

Rhea says the development is similar to The Retreat at Mountain Village, an award-winning luxury development build by his team in Telluride, Co.

Some of the luxury elements of The Manning include a formal grand salon, private wine storage, event planning, personal training services, a concierge service, extensive estate gardens and walking areas .

Rhea says a model will be completed in about six weeks.

Sales will begin in July.

“I believe we’ll find a cross-section of buyers,” Rhea says. “I think Nashville is becoming a verynational city with business interests from all over the country and world.”

The grounds and gardens are designed by Gavin Duke, a partner with Nashville’s Ben Page Associates.

Architecture is by Houston-based Don Meeks of Meeks + Partners and interiors are by Nashville’s Marjorie Feltus-Hawkins of Feltus|Hawkins Design.

Construction will begin January 2008, with completion anticipated in 2009.

Sales will be handled by Traditions Management and Steve Fridrich of Fridrich & Clark Realty.
