Developers Go Forward with Ritzy Condo Tower Project
The Tennessean - Chas Sisk
June 22--A pair of Nashville developers say they’re moving ahead with plans for a $60 million condominium project on Wood mont Boulevard near Harding Pike.
Richard Rhea and his wife, LaRawn Scaife Rhea, unveiled Thursday a rendering of the Manning, a 10-story condo tower on the 100 block of Woodmont. The building will have 34 units, which the pair plan to sell for between $950,000 and $5.5 million.
The project is geared at wealthy homeowners in Belle Meade, which lies two blocks to the south. Among the amenities are a concierge service and private wine storage. Condo space will range from 1,800 square feet to 6,000 square feet.
“It’s kind of a reflection of what’s happening up and down the West End corridor,” said Councilman John Summers, whose district includes the site. “As people get older and they have these big houses in Belle Meade, they want to step down to something smaller.”
City officials have approved the project, which the Rheas redesigned two years ago to appease neighbors who were worried it would overwhelm the neighborhood of single-family homes. Construction is to begin in January.
